Even Machi's trained ears would not betray the phantasms entering the room; once again, their appearance was unexpected and without warning, a quartet of spectres appearing before Machi's cell door. One opened the door and barred the doorway, as always; the others moved in to take their captive once more, and bring Machi further into the laboratory for his round of testing.
