I think my rant about Dr. Sears was a tad bit unfair to the general perception of our days...I'm not sorry I ranted. He is way too preachy and because of my own predisposition towards perfectionism, it was so easy to buy into his "gently" packaged approach. I'm a little more balanced now ( Read more... )

I love my kid and I'm coming to terms with the fact that I will never be a perfect parent or even a particularly relaxed one who just takes things in stride, just as I don't think he's going to be a relaxed, laid-back baby.

Good! :) I think knowing that you can't be a perfect parent is the mark of a great parent.

And he is really an insanely cute little guy!

Awwww! What a gorgeous smile. I'm glad that things seem to be settling down somewhat - and from the sound of it, he's really going to be a delight when he learns to talk, as alert and fascinated as he is.

Diaper changes are...interesting. His Highness has, it appears, discovered that he's a boy and that boy parts are a good toy!!!

From having helped care for one baby brother, two nephews, and five first cousins once removed, I know exactly what you're talking about it here. You may hope to distract him, but it will remain his favorite toy well into his seventies. ;)

He's so, so cute! Lovely smile.
