How To:
...use Squee!Book for creating ff-books...
Warning: Image Heavy Post
Despite the fact that most people should find this site easy to use, a good fandom buddy still managed to bollocks the whole process up and asked me if I'd be willing to make a tutorial...I hope it's helpful!
Step 1: Open Squee!Book. Imput Title and Author.
Depending on your browser (I'm using IE for this particular tutorial), the above is what you should see when you open Squee!Book in your web browser. Please type the TITLE and AUTHOR of the fan fiction or original work you'll be creating into an e-book; be sure to spell check!
Step 2: Click 'Add Story Text' Tab.
Once you click the 'Add Story Text' tab, it should look like this:
There are three options for adding your story text:
1. Copy and paste the story into text box.
This is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) text field so please change what you need to while you can.
2. Upload a file; this may take several seconds.
3. Copy and paste URLs from Fanfiction.net, Livejournal, Dreamwidth & AO3.
Click '>>Copy story from URL(s)'.
The page should look something like the below. Paste URL into field -- ONE link per line. If the story is behind a friend-lock, you will have to log-in to livejournal/dreamwidth -- your username and password will not be saved. Click 'LOAD' once all URLs have been pasted.
Step 3: Click 'Add Story Cover'; Optional Feature.
You can add a book cover to your e-book. Use book cover/fan art provided by the author, fans, or create your own. This feature is entirely optional and you can skip it if you don't have one to add.
Step 4: Build Book.
This is the final step to making your e-book.
Please choose which format you would like for your e-book to me. Click 'grabby hands' once you've picked your format. This can and will take anywhere from several seconds to several minutes depending on the length of the story and the speed of your internet connection. Formats include: TXT, HTML, PDF, RTF, FB2, and EPUB.
And there we have it!
