University part deux

Since my last post I received only one university offer which I was willing to enrol into straight away, if it wasn't for the fact that I forgot my TFN (I already filled in half the form) which the ATO won't tell me over the phone.

It is a very scary prospect, going to school that far away from home. I was just short of going to a different province for university (I live really close to one border and go to uni at the complete other side, 2000km away), and it was a bit daunting at first. Once you really get into the school life, it doesn't seem to be so far away anymore (at least, it was like that for me, but I call home a lot). The only time that you'll really feel the distance is during holidays where you can't go home (like Easter or something, when it's not worth the trip) or when you're sick. I've never felt so far away from home until I got ill.

It's hard. A part of me wants to go and another wants to stay home.

I decided it's my parents call whether I should go or not. My dad doesn't think the double degree is a good idea. :\

I only have until Tuesday to finalise this.

I don't know if I'd leave sucha big decision to my parents, myself. Choosing where you go to university is quite a personal thing, I found. You really want to choose a school where you know you're going to be happy.

Personally, I was choosing between two schools, and the choice was so tough for me that my mother and I wound up visiting both schools before I chose. My mom really loved the first city and absolutely detested the other (and thought it too scary and unsafe). I, on the other hand, preferred the school that was in the city my mom hated and decided to go there, despite her misgivings. I totally made the right choice and don't think that I would've been as happy, had I listened to my mother (my dad kept his nose out, haha).

That turned out to be longer than anticipated, and for that, I apologize.

It's just whenever I disagreed with my parents and didn't follow their advice I suffered time and time again. Ever since my results came out they have decided they are going to control my life. They are actually making me go to bed at 10pm like a little kid. :( At this point I have as much freedom as my 12 year old brother.

Plus my dad also studied engineering, in his eyes there is no point in doing business for me.

My parents would actually move up with me eventually. That's what they had always told me. We always lived in the south because for me.

I do have some family members up there. So I won't be completely alone.

If I had my own money I would say fuck no. But I need to save up some money and I haven't had a job for 2 years.
