Cameron clomped out of a patient's room, looking disgusted. "And another perfectly good life ruined because someone couldn't keep it in his pants."
Foreman followed after her, frowning. "Hey, we still don't know which of them cheated."
"Oh, it's always the man. Men are pigs."
"I find that incredibly offensive."
"I find your gender incredibly offensive."
Foreman fell into step beside her even as she started walking faster. "What's turned you into such a man hater all of a sudden? Something to do with House?"
"At least House doesn't just want me for sex."
"House doesn't want you at all."
She stopped walking long enough to glare daggers at him. "Well maybe I want him to want me."
"But you were just talking about how men are pigs for only thinking about sex!"
"Well it doesn't count if I'm the one thinking about it first ( ... )

Sharing a bed was still a novel experience, and Severus sometimes forgot he wasn't alone when he lay there, panting and blinking at the ceiling. But then a hand would tentatively reach out to stroke his hand, just a bare touch that said, 'I'm here, you aren't alone, it's okay ...' when the words themselves would be utterly humiliating.
Sometimes, Severus jerks away from the touch and leaves the room, or curls up on the far corner of the bed, as far from Remus as he can.
But some nights, when he lets himself accept that tentative hand, he leans in, lets his body press against Remus's more solid frame, and holds on.
