Tiptoe Through The Tulips - Sara/Grissom butterbuns June 4 2007, 02:39:54 UTC
They walked in and she blinked. Of all the things that she’d been expecting, she hadn’t been expecting that.

“What the…” She murmured, bag over her shoulder. Glancing around the room, she shook her head before pulling out the camera, snapping photos.

She carefully made her way through the room towards the body, Grissom already there, searching for evidence while they waited for Dr. Robbins.

That was the last thing she’d been expecting, considering the seediness of the hotel room. Tulips. Everywhere. Every color, every type, just vases of them everywhere.

She never thought she’d have to tiptoe through the tulips at a crime scene.

POSTING FOR ANDREALYNThe thing about stopwatches was this; twice a day, even a broken one would tell you the right time. It's a thing Jack thinks, that even though he's broken in all the strangest ways, twice a day, there's a truth to him that's right ( ... )

"I... I was relieved, when Fleur left."

The confession seemed to reverberate in the dark room, and Remus couldn't think of anything to say in response for several minutes.

"Why?" He finally asked, lamely.

"Because... her concern was just too much." Bill ran a hand over his face and sighed. "It wasn't her fault. I just... didn't want or need to be fretted over like that. Not when my mother was doing the same thing."

Remus shifted, and started tracing shapes on Bill's skin, touching for the sake of touching. "I understand," was all he said, and he could tell from the way Bill looked at him that Bill knew, and appreciated it, and that was why they were here. And Remus smiled.

Nobody ever asked why Ianto stayed. They all had their little histories and their faults (in some cases, they were deep, demanding flaws), but Torchwood had become their lives, their family. Everyone knew Ianto had feelings for Jack, but they rarely mentioned it.

Another thing they didn't mention, or perhaps didn't see, was the way Jack relied on Ianto to be there. Ianto was much more than a friend or a lover. Their relationship just wasn't that simple. There was some real dependence there, and it wasn't completely on Ianto's side. It probably wasn't healthy, but neither were their lives in general. It was good to have someoneAt night, when the Hub was quiet and the others had gone home, pretending they were normal people with normal lives outside their work, Ianto stayed. He went to Jack and didn't say a word when he got on his knees ( ... )

"I'm dying. This is it. Grissom, you were an awesome boss, when you weren't painting mildew on my feet. Sara, my only regret is that I never got to see your completely bangin' body outside of work."

Greg slumped down in his seat, and Grissom thought it a credit to his performance that there was real sweat beading on his forhead.

"It's just music, Greg. We're waiting until the guy's done with his set, then we'll get our chance to talk to him," he tried, but was rewarded with a groan.

"Sara, help me out here," Greg pleaded. "Grissom's of a certain age, he doesn't know this stuff is poisonous to our generation."

Sara looked between the two of them. "...I'm not getting caught in the middle of this."

The singer crooned on, tiptoe through the tulips, and Greg began to beat his head against the table ( ... )
