Holy crap, you guys. THIS IS SO EXCITING. Renee Fleming and Susan Graham both starred in the opera "Der Rosenkavalier" at the Met, and it's coming back in January. *GRABBY HANDS* Have some photos and a link to the plot synopsis + SOUND CLIPS!

Not to respond to every comment, but movie theaters! January! Check your listings!

And they usually put it out on DVD after that, but I'm not sure if they will since Fleming JUST had a Rosenkavalier released on DVD.

Dude, once I get my subscription with Opera News sorted out again (they have something messed up in their system), I'll search their archives for more pics.

Yes, I know. The nearest theatre to me is... Er... Very far away. But perhaps I can swing a trip to see it if I convince the Only Other Person in Arp That Cares About Opera aka my theatre director's mother to come along. I sprinted to her office this morning after I found this and we had a few minutes of appreciation. The fact that I can do these things at school makes life more bearable.

Yeah, Renee is one of those flawless human beings who makes the rest of us feel just a little bit insignificant. She's the Meryl of opera. le sigh.
