What a lovely moment. You really bring the reader in to the humvee. I can almost feel the vibrations and heat.

Very nice little snippet of a moment, really natural, and loved his hesitation to admit what he was smiling about. Especially loved the connection of rainbow and "following the yellow road." And on a side not, your Psych header makes me smile :)
