Would you look at that, I have a journal.

Y'know, with as much time as I spend looking for fic and other assortment of time-wasting fun on livejournal, I kinda forget to update this thing. Oops. I've been pretty good at the flaky lately. Too good ( Read more... )

*g* Yay with the Who love! I absolutely support this. And if you find any outstanding fic, I would love to read it. I just read a great Ten/Rose last night (the Doctor/Rose is my favorite) and it's a bit smutty at the end, but, really, it works fantastically within the context of the story.

Oh, I've found lots and lots of outstanding fic. Epic stuff, some of it. There's lots at the bottom of my Fic By Others heading in my memories... I'll see about making a list, because there are so many at teaspoon that are amazing stuff!

I've read that one! One of the first I read, I think. It's good stuff. :)

I remember watching one episode of Doctor Who a year or so ago but I can't remember why I did. (I could have just randomly caught the episode on tv although that seems unlikely).

It was all right but I didn't get into it. But it seems that DW is owning my flist! So I might try again. Any recommendation of where to start?

What passions rule you now

Gosh, I've went through a bunch that I decided to spare my flist from. But I might just have to squee about The Mighty Boosh. Noel Fielding OMG. Julian Barrat... equally OMG. Vince Noir and Howard Moon OMG. The Mighty Boosh LIVE OMG.

And cockney accents... and completely nonsensical but brilliantly genius songs... and mods and goths and jazz and funk (jazz's deformed cousin) and electro and hilarity.

Gosh this show. I must make DVDs of it and spread it to friends.

I've only seen New Who, so I'd say start at the beginning of that. Give it time if it seems too campy at first, or whatever. I think, more than anything, the emotional journey of the Doctor and Rose is what really grabbed me, and if you make it to the end of Season 1 and don't weep like a little baby who just had it's favorite toy taken away, then, well... I don't know. To make it worse, the end of Season Two will gather up what's left of your shattered heart, create a new or new, new fancy heart out of the wreakage and then PULVERIZE IT at season's end.

Okay, so, maybe that's not the best rah-rah I've ever managed, but I promise you, it's worth it. Also, David Tennant is pretty. And licks things.

LICKS THINGS.

... I have not heard of them, but I love me some funk! Who are they?

(Sorry I replied twice. There was a spelling mistake that bothered me too much to keep in.)

Hmm, yeah I was a bit confused there about DW. I thought that *everyone* had seen most of the episodes and that you had to, to understand New Who (which I didn't realize was New - I didn't know DW had taken a break and this was a revival). I get it now, after reading the wiki. haha

I've watched all three seasons now. David Tennant is so pretty, you are correct. *____* But he sounds so much hotter with his own Scottish accent. Too bad he couldn't have kept it.

How does one explain The Mighty Boosh? It's a tv show with surreal comedy. The best bits are the random short songs that just... start between the two main characters, Howard and Vince. It's a show that you either love or you hate, both because it's so WEIRD. If you like, you can watch an episode or two here to check it out. I recommend seeing Electro or Jungle from the first season first.

I saw Castaways & Cutouts on your last.fm and was freaked out because I had just been listening to it on my iPod and it would be way magical for it to somehow be in the computer. Back when I saw the Decemberists, I re-listened to all their albums, and I think Castaways & Cutouts was my favorite, but now I can't remember. I suck at being a music snob. It was that or Her Majesty, and The Crane Wife is third after those two. They're so wonderful.

My passions, at the moment, if you must know, include Scrubs and Harry Potter (books), and European men who don't love me anymore (SIGH). The most surprising is the lack of fic. D:

I've yet to listen to the other albums (I think I had Picaresque somewhere around here) but I do love this one. Though, uh, I kinda listened to it too many times (I can still stand to listen to Grace Catherdral Hill a few, say, thousand more times ;)). Which one do you suggest I listen to next? You saw them live? Awesome. :D

When does Scrubs come back, do you know? January again? Because that would suck.

I think Picaresque is my least favorite, although it's the first album of theirs I had and it is pretty darn good. I got all out of the loop when I was no longer on my Decemberists kick a little while back, so I can't even remember what my favorite album is. :x but it's either Castaways & Cutouts or Her Majesty, so LISTEN TO THAT. the latter. :D I do like The Crane Wife as well, but it sounds a little different than those other two. More like Picaresque I think, but I like it better.

nbc.com says 25/10, I'M SO EXCITED.

ps, do you have msn and more importantly, do you use it regularly? It's like my life support.
