We're not so fat afterall!

It turns out that a lot of the gages used for "determining" that the U.S. is one of the "heaviest" countries on the planet have just been proven flawed... Check out just which American celebrities are considered "fat" or "obese" by the current, commonly-accepted BMI system standards.

yeah that Tom Cruise is a total fatty! ;)

I don't want the BMI thing to be flawed though cuz it tells me I'm right in shape!! :D

Yeah, I too couldn't help but notice that Tom Cruise actually made the list--and was tagged not as "fat" but as "OBESE," yet!--by the BMI system. No wonder 60% of Americans are considered overweight! International visitors who accuse us of being fat don't have all that much room to talk though...

By the way, I've met you in person, and I think that you are in shape too!

I agree that some European nations are fat as Americans, Chechians for example, but Croats not. When I was in the Chezh Republic two years ago, I was astonished by how their young people are fat (much more than Croatians).
But, walking through the Croatian streets you can mostly see thin girls (underweight or normal, BMI probably less then 18,5 or something around it). Although my BMI is 18,1, I do not believe these measures so much. My mum has the same as I, but she looks much heavier....

Sometimes it is off because of the simple fact that muscle weighs more than fat.
