I have just bought a brand spanking new book about Pirates! in an Adventure with Napoleon from a shop where they had more than one copy. This pleases me. I'm also pleased with a slightly less brand spanking new volume of Keats poetry, not least because I am now able to stand in chav territory reading a book of culcha whilst awaiting the omnibus.

OK, so just how does a member of the opposition hope to make a political point by resigning his seat? Yes, he's getting lots of nice press attention and he gets to labour his point for the next little while but if he wants his seat to reflect his view... why not stay in it and be just as vocal from a position of strength?
