In modern Gaelic, a letter with a dot over it is the same as a letter with an 'h' after it. The difference is that Gh is easier to typeset than Ġ, so the h became more popular in printed materials. And Fh and Sh are both pronounced "h" if I remember correctly. But I have no idea if any of that was true 600 years ago.
OK, changing the name AGAIN. It is Sotal. Sotal with an S. (read: "s dot"). Friggin naming practices and inconsistencies with how I want it to be. And of course, nothing's on the do-not-photocopy list. Friggin names.
