Hilariously, Tony deleted his original comment agreeing with me when linking to Jake DeSantis' letter in the New York Times. It's a very nice letter. Heh. I kinda regret deleting it in hindsight but I guess I'm easily swayed.

What I think this highlights is the importance of not letting large companies compete in so many different markets when their risks in one market can be offset by other ones. It's not even that good for companies themselves, as it makes them lose focus.

Don't get me wrong, it's a convincing letter which genuinely inspires sympathy, until you think about it for a minute.
