I've been reading quite a few Batman fanfics recently (uh, yeah, they are mostly Batman/Joker) and I've come across a problem.
When reading most words, I only read far enough into the word that I can guess what it is in context of the sentence, and sometimes this means it only takes one letter. Such as with the word Batman. I see the capital B and

When I'm reading aloud, I try to be more careful, but yeah, sometimes that happens and I have to correct myself.

I'm terrible at reading things out loud, not because I misinterpret a word, but because my speech gets all garbled. I seem to fail at talking, haha.

I often read too fast for my mouth to keep up, which makes me stumble over words. I have to consciously slow down my reading speed when I want to try and read aloud which makes it harder to do so.

Actually, now that I've talked about it, I've found that it's much easier to realize when it's happening.
But back when it happened all the time, it would be weird, because the Joker would say something to Batman, including his name, and Batman would freak out and punch him in the face or something. And I would be like, what? what he said wasn't that bad. And then I'd reread it and be like, ohhhhh. XD

lol I tend to always think about things like that. Though, really, it was the Nolanverse Batman movies that made me think about it.
