Your friends' opinions are pretty much prejudices and lack of information, even more so when they imply that you're the only one who likes fan fiction and slash that is not creepy. Thinking that every single anime fan and/or slash/yaoi fan is "super creepy" just because is not a very good attitude, but it happens sometimes, later on they'll meet more persons like you and star noticing that they are wrong and one persona they happen to know doesn't make everyone the same way
