So I finished reading book three. I have been getting the books from the library, but it only has books one through three, and seven and eight. So I ordered the other books from some other libraries, but they didn't get there by the time I'd finished book three. So I decided to go to the bookstore and buy it. Only, they had every book of the series, but book four. fail. And then today book six came in from another library. But still no book four. ARRRRGGGGHHHH.
Anyway, onto my thoughts for book two, The Lost City of Faar.

Book One:
The Merchant of Death In this book, Bobby is fresh from his adventure on Denduron, still kind of high off his victory over Saint Dane, but still kind of low over the knowledge that his entire family and history has disappeared from his home Territory, Second Earth. Anyway, along with his Uncle Press, (and no one else, including Loor! yay!), Bobby heads to the Territory of Cloral, where the Travelers know Saint Dane to be. Over the course of the book, Bobby learns a bit more about being a Traveler, as well as how to live on a land made entirely of water. Also, he battles Saint Dane (sort of), and meets the Traveler of Cloral, Spader (though the boy in question doesn't know it at the start of the book). I squee, because now I have someone fun to slash Bobby with (this feeling doesn't really last through book three). Also, the Travelers find the lost city of Faar (hmmmm... where have I heard this before?), and save the Territory. And then Uncle Press dies, because Spader doesn't know how to listen (this is a common fault of his). On the other side of the equation, Bobby's friends (who get his journals) suffer through some drama of there own, but frankly I could care less about them).
This book had the same faults of the Journal/Letter style as the first book, which I already ranted about. I won't bore you with that again.
On the plus side, there was no ten page description of kissing, in this book, so I was happy. Also, there is finally a character I can slash Bobby with, without having to have it be
FoeYay. (Though I do like Saint Dane/Bobby... probably more than I should no it's definitely the right amount).
Also, I just liked this book better than I did the first one, probably because Bobby didn't mess things up to even near the extent that he did in book one, and I always enjoy when my favorite characters (most often the main characters) succeed.
Frankly, I enjoyed this book more than I did the previous one, and I put it down to the fact that Bobby is becoming a much more likable and interesting character, and someone that I want to read about. The sideaways between journals to Second Earth and Bobby's friends are even a bit more interesting than they were in the last book, but I would still prefer that they weren't there.
I still would rather get these books from the library than buy them, but if you would like to check the series out, head to your local bookstore or library, and hopefully you'll have more luck than I did.
