It's really surreal living in Chicago, the hometown of President Obama. Everyone on the train was just smiling. We all knew what the other was smiling about. People were more friendly than usual. I agree. I was telling Ian that tonight. Cbamam is the 1st modern pres. who gets us.

i'm thrilled too, and i totally get the LOTR analogy. however, technically the inhabitants of Gondor are subjects of the king, not citizens!

Totally get what you're saying about self-reliance, I just don't get why people take it for granted that things supplied by others will always be available.

But yes, what an ecstatic day ~ it's the ushering in of a new era!
