i've been thinking about moving to a different blogging site. it would be really weird to leave livejournal but it seems like so many people have abandoned this site. also the ads that pop up when you view this journal are annoying.
which site would you recommend? i already have a wordpress account that i used briefly in 2009.
blogger?
blogspot?

i also recommend tumblr. it's grown A LOT since i first got one back in '08.. and i love the versatility. it's super user friendly and has a big fan base, so it's good for networking and finding new blogs.

otherwise, i use blogspot and thought it was pretty alright. in that sense, i do prefer livejournal although i, too, have abandoned it for the most part.

Honestly, I've had a hard time finding a good "replacement" for LJ. I don't feel open enough about my personal life to blog without some kind of filtered privacy settings, so while I use blogspot for my music blog & tumblr for fun images & the occasional political blogging, I don't use either one like I use LJ. I find that other blogging platforms also don't seem to have the "community" feel of LJ (though LJ has gotten quieter and quieter every year.)

I use typepad. I LOVE it, but I pay for a pro account. I reviewed my favorite blogs and they are all on typepad. Very user friendly and crisp clean look. I also think it's easier to find people on it than Blogger/blogspot.

For me and the way I want my blog to look/feel tumbler doesn't cut it. I know it's come a long way, but I prefer typepad.

This is my typepad account:

and these are a few of my favorites:

I miss the old days of lj, but have moved on for the same reasons. I'm currently using wordpress and I am pretty happy with it. Tumblr is good and easy to use, but I've only seen a few serious bloggers on there. Most of what I see is just a bunch of reblogging of other people's photos, quotes, or whatever they fancy. And, I haven't used tumblr in a while, but I remember tumblr not having a comments setting, I had to install a third party thing which was annoying! I like having the option of conversing with readers via comments!

So those are my two-cents!!! Here's my blog if you want to link me!: http://quetaknits.wordpress.com/

Let me know what you end up going with and I'll link you back!

PS: Blogger = Blogspot

Blogspot is Blogger's hosting site. :)
