[The camera feed flicks on. The trees rise around like tall, brooding sentinels, still and silent and watchful. The waxing moon is far away tonight, giving only a little light, enough to illuminate the blackness with dark blue and green. As the eyes grow more accustomed, the shapes grow more pronounced. It’s almost possible to see the faces stare

[The Crow on his shoulder sounded disapproving, sidling closer to where neck and shoulder met, head twisting this way and that, providing extra eyes for the Sheikah he was riding upon. The sounds and sights within the forest made him uneasy, but he remained silent to it, simply watching the shadows warily. They shifted and twisted, almost as if the forest itself was determined to change around them.]

He pauses to speak into the communicator after it alerts him to the fact that someone is speaking to him, and then begins to walk on.]
Let's go.
[He sets off quicker than before, not yet breaking into a run - he moves swiftly and near silently through the forest, weaving through the ever-changing scenery. It reminds him, strongly, of the Lost Woods, a place he was never wont to tarry ( ... )

Shadow!
[Karasu was never a creature who took interest in what affected others, but for now, Sheik was -his-, if only in a manner as something like a friend, someone who kept him sane and calm. And he was not about to allow some creature to take that from him. With his wings spread, he lifted away from the Sheikah, small but cruel talons raking at the beast in warning. If that didn't help, well...he did have a few other tricks up his sleeve.]

The Sheikah was kicked on as if he were a horse, a mere beast of burden - perhaps, under other circumstances, he'd have mused over the irony of that - and he was forced to move on, weaving through the tight weave of trees in an attempt to shake it off.]

I think it best to stay inside this night, my lord.
[And then he moves on, saying a 'let's go' to, presumably, the crow that's still riding on his shoulder. The camera view is one of the trees again - but it moves faster now as Sheik does, swift and sure. He pauses for a moment, to judge which direction to go - and then is abruptly thrown forward. He stays upright, but something has obscured the camera now, and his breath has hitched in his throat. Movement is heard, and the recording switches off.]

North had lost his communicator some time ago, the lights in the forest had lead him here and he had drooped it along the way before he had fallen.
The broken ankle had stopped him moving anywhere, because he'd fallen into a kind of hole and couldn't climb out. If it had been any other way, he'd have dragged himself back to the village. At least, that's what he told himself. As it was, he had no other option but to stay still and hide from the noises and terror of the forest.
He wasn't crying though. Not at all. Why would he cry? It was only a noise, only a monster close by that could come along and swallow him up at any moment.
He wasn't crying, not at all.
