I only saw the first four or so episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D. so far and I'd lie if I said that I didn't feel entertained. It's just that the cast isn't particularly strong and it makes the characters look blander than they actually are. And the stories always tie up a bit too neatly, borderlining on predictable. But eh, I want to know where they're going with the mysteries and mythologies, so I'm going to follow the show for this season at least.
It's not a bad show, but it seems to be contend to be an 80s-style family action-adventure show and nothing more (and yes, it's extremely predictable). I liked the first four or five episodes as well, but I'm really growing impatient with it, and considering that all those Dollhouse-people are behind it, I'm disappointed.
Funny, when the show started, I found this comment in my go-to forum: "Holy hell is that kid ugly. The girls are pretty but I don't know if I could stand looking at his face. Seriously, ABC Family, I know you aren't quite up to CW standards yet, but know your demographic." Definitely written by some clueless guy. I just told him to google "that kid", my very first hit was this picture: http://www.animaatjes.de/prominente/a/avan-jogia/animaatjes-avan-jogia-33910.jpg If that's ugly, then I'm some kind of cave troll in comparison.
