Rae was asking if I ever wrote anything positive as far as poetics was concerned. I think I have three positive pieces of poetry, the rest are either depressed or in a rather gray area. I decided to try to write a song for a friend tonight, then I decided to try to write a song for another friend. Well, one is positive and one isn't. As far as

It's hard to write a positive song and not sound cheesy. I remember seeing an interview with Fiona Apple on the Late Late Show and she was talking about her reputation for being sulky or mad in lyrics and she basically said, "Well if you're enjoying something why would you stop in the middle of it to go and write it down. Whereas if you're upset you write to get it off your chest."

BTW, I loooove "Without You" Simple words and simply put (just like my songs vs poetry) it has a really good flow to it and you get the message across good. :)

I think there are a lot of people who like to write when they are in good moods. I just don't tend to be one of them. :P I'm always the wistful writer.
