the season cometh
when we realize how selfish others are
when we see the worst in mankind
parents buying their kids all the toys they ask for
all in vain attempts to make up
for a year's worth of selfishness

why can't we skip this crap?

the fire burns
I feel it under my hand
Its heat
Its strength
Its calm
I try to grasp these from it
