No experience here, but I love the idea of the 50/50 and having both water-only and air breathers!

Me too. :) I talked to a really smart guy at the *fancy-pants* fish store today and he had a ton of good ideas on how to make, basically, a pond shore in a fish tank. Now I just have to ponder. I want as many different classes of animals as is practical in the small tank - crustaceans, fish, amphibians... I think I might be able to put the isopods in there when we're done with them later this year... :)

All I know is, despite their name, if you get a hermit crab, you need more than one or they go to the shore in the sky. Which we didn't know prior to the crab fading away. Sigh
