Do you write for yourself, or others?

I'm not trying to be a tool, I'm very much aware that feedback and interaction are very important to most writers.

I do not always agree with you, your methods, presentation or .. whatever. But the only time I tend to start skipping over your writings and commentary are not when you ruffle feathers, but when you spend far to much time defending yourself to each riled up reader.

I'd very much like to see you go back to posting more of your thoughts, observations and ideas - masses be damned.

What ^^^ Bob said. I promise not to fly off the handle and get mad at you unless you mention me by name. And if I *do* tick you off, I fully expect to be told so, anyway, so there. :P

I stopped writing in depth long ago. Kinda...
People who got offended at my posts or thought they were about them and did this repeatedly I took off my journal. They are still my friends and I still keep them informed, but they obviously cannot read my writing without it pushing buttons so it's better that they don't read it.

I locked my journal down a long time ago so only people on my list could see it. Too many people on the outside that did not need to have opinions about my life.

Anything I do post that is important I post to a select locked list. This list of people are people that I choose. It is not a list that anyone can elect to be on. It is a list of the people I trust and know that they will react decently and people I appreciate their opinions. I do change this list when I don't trust someone and I do review it on a regular basis. This is not to say I don't trust the people who are not on that list, just that I can't post in general anymore.

Take your time. If your journal is for you, to help you organize thoughts or solicit feedback, that will dictate your behavior. I will help where I can. (Or not.) I understand where you are coming from, at the very least. There are some places where I feel I am a bit further through the minefield.
