No other way to put it. Shadow, my last ferret, was put to sleep this evening. He's now with Roland and Lady, frolicking beyond the Rainbow Bridge.

It's hard being an adult sometimes.

You have my deepest condolences. Having recently lost my canine companion, I understand where you're coming from.

We know they don't (generally) live as long as we do, but it's still so hard every time we have to say good-bye.

I will include you and Shadow in my prayers and meditations.
