I have a special talent. I know I'm not the only one who has it and I know I got it from my family but it's still rather special. I have the ability to never put things in a logical place. I don't have "homes" for things, you know, that one place where you always put item X. There are a handful of things that I do that with but it's the important

Sounds like you need to reprogram yourself? Try to catch yourself when you tell yourself that you're going to put something in a safe place, and say, "no, I'm going to put it where it belongs." Earrings belong in the jewelry box on your dresser, keys on a designated hook, money in your wallet or personal safe, and so forth. Reprogramming can take a while, but hopefully it will help with some of those small things.

I'm not a huge fan of either the old or the new Twilight Zone. But there was one (new) that I just loved.

AVBS (A very brief synopsis):
A couple wakes up to the sound of heavy construction taking place outside their window. Then they hear voices inside their house. They discover that they've woken up "between minutes." As the construction foreman explains to them, each minute is constructed individually. He says at one point "you know how you put an item on the coffee table, leave the room, come back and it's gone, leave and come back again and there it is? Well, that's our mistake."

I think this explanation makes a LOT of sense :)!

i am especially gifted in moving things to a safe place where i can find them, and then forgetting where that place is. but i can CLEARLY remember where they were before i moved them. *palmface*.
