Does anyone want a 3 pound pile of fur?

My stepmom got a new puppy not quite 2 weeks ago. She got a call that her dad was admitted to the hospital a few days ago so she had to go out of town, and needed someone to watch the puppy right away. And I was the only one able to. He's cute, but he's 10 weeks old, not housebroken yet, and teething. He's good about going into his crate at night

You could always get an alternative pet, like a turtle or some fish.

That's true. I might still get a dog, but it would be an older one that was already housebroken and not eating everything. :)

That's what I was going to suggest: an older dog who's calmed down from puppyhood but is still a great companion.
