Et tu, Luqman?

So the latest news is that an ex-roommate of mine cheated me. Just for a little over $300!! It's so sad I considered him friend and helped him with all that he neeeded. He had no place to live, and I helped him with that. He had no money for food, and I would buy it for him. I let him use my personal stuff and even my laptop. Now that we are in ( Read more... )

Cripes, I'm sorry to hear about that happening to you. I know you're going to say you're not mad (in fact you already have), but it's unfortunate to hear how you've been mistreated. It's a testament to your character that you're more concerned with the fact that he decieved you and that you've lost a friend over the fact that he stole from you. Not everyone would be so focussed on non-material things. I sure wouldn't.

Reminds me of a proverb (heh, are you even surprized that something reminds me of somethign I read anymore?): No good deed goes unpunished. But here's hoping that karma will a)bite that person in the behind, and b)will reward you.

Yeah, I could have understood him earlier but I knew him only for 2 months. And he presented himself as he is in desperate need of everything. Even though I got a bad experience but this doesn't mean I would stop trusting people.

Glad to get your reply though. :) How have you been? And the proverb is "No bad deed goes unpunished." I guess that was typo. ;)

Nope, no typo. It's a twist on what you have, though. It sort of runs parallel to the "good guys finish last" hypothesis.

And I've been okay. School's still sucking up most of my time. How about you? What's drawn you to Toronto? Job? Did you finish what you were doing in the States? Are you Super Finance Guy now, with fluttering cape and dazzling tights?

Sometimes it's hard to imagine anything bad about a person with whom you had good terms. Whether or not he suffers but I hope at least he realises he did something wrong.
