Is there any way that someone could program a PCD to read aloud messages sent in text and to transfer spoken words into text as well? My brother has been having trouble dealing with his sudden cut from the PCD that this "event" has brought upon us. And, rather than having to tell him everything that goes on the network myself, I would rather him ( Read more... )

I drummed the idea around for a bit and I think I may have a solution. There is a code that was used in my home world that enabled those that needed to send a message but didn't have a telephone to send it to get their messages through long distances. I think I can try that here. It's called Morse Code and I can teach it to you.

That could be a solution, but it would still limit those that anyone who may be blind here to who they could speak to.

Ugh....no sound. Not unless there was a way to make it beep. A telegraph machine isn't hard to build. I'll have to think on this some more. Drat, and to think it could have worked....
