Pub Meet

Mar 06, 2007 12:21

I have noticed that recently attendance at the pubmeet has dropped off a bit and suggestions have been made that it's time for a change of venue. What do people think about moving it to Wednesday nights at the Briar Rose on Bennets hill in the middle of town? Parking does cost but it's a much more central venue and Wed nights seems to be a bit more ( Read more... )

The London PM has been dropping off - but then it is the quiet season since the flurry of activity that led upto the G. Presumably we will find that attendance increases again once the spring pre-season gets into full flow and in the run up to Geoff, Frank or whatever he's called.

Wednesdays means no Dena no Jason and No DA as they have table top.

Briar Rose gets incredibly noisy and busy almost every night so I'd be against it.

Ok. In which case shall we keep it as Thursdays at Selly Park and give people ageneral kicking to get themselves along again. Would puttin git back to once a month be better?

I'm actually in Birmingham this Wednesday, staying over at Rich & Waynes - so if they're up for it, then I'd be :-)

Maybe we could all go down the pub anyway. Ed may be up tomorrow too...

Poke them for me, as I'll forget (am trying to remember too many things and my brain is pushing all the important stuff out!!) but that would be ace!

I should be heading over for around 6ish, as that's when Rich reckoned he'd be back...

Briar Rose is difficult for me, when I was living in Solihull and now I live in Stourbridge the only real way I can get into town is by train. I'm not confident with driving in Brum central atm, in particular i hate five ways.

I prefer the Selly Tav at least its free to park and relativly easy to get to by car. Then again if we can identify a pub that is easier to get to and is reasonably central for everyone (bearing in mind we now have peps coming from Stourbridge, Kidderminster and possibly worcester or Stoke).

I agree with staying away from the Red lion, as we found out car security is put at risk there. Unfortunately not knowing this side of Brum well yet I am at a loss to suggest an alternative.
