On Sacrifice

I propose to you a Disambiguity:

Sacrifice, putting all other implications aside for the moment, means giving up something of greater value for something of lesser value. Why thank you :),and yeah, maybe one day. But for now, I am content to read random stuffs; I just found an e-book mine :D. How have you been doing?
BTW, There's a little Nintendo DS thing called the M3 DS Simply that lets you emulate downloaded Roms on the DS (SNES Games, NDS Commercial roms) so basically that means unlimited DS games(You can fit probably like 5-10 or so onto it, and delete/add on new games of course, and its as small as any other NDS Cartridge), for $60. In case you ever want to save money on DS games XD.

This is true, but then what is sacrifice? Why would anyone make a sacrifice? Taking your example of giving up a dollar for a quarter, why would one do that? There must be a reason to give up the dollar, one that the sacrificer values more than the money (or whatever value is derived from the dollar). As humans, we always choose what we value more--we never sacrifice. It is only when viewed by others who value differently that we "sacrifice."
