To start, I think that attraction comes when we recognize things about someone consciously and subconsciously. I had an interesting discussion with someone lately about charisma. He differentiated between "charisma" and "character." My opinion was (and still is) that charisma is the name for the general quality about a person that somehow attracts other people to them (without speaking of how it came about). But he said that that's not charisma, that's character. Charisma, on the other hand, is when people have a lot of influence/a large following, but they need to keep doing things to make themselves appear attractive in order to maintain their following. Entertainers and celebrities, for instance, have charisma.
Character, however, is a natural quality that doesn't require "upkeep." Jesus Christ had character.
I'm not sure I agree, but I thought it was interesting in connection to your post. Please write more! I do so enjoy reading these.
