Holy ghost! That dude is insane!

I'm figuring it's all planned beforehand, but still... The bit where he leaps up to grab the next bit... Certifiably insane...

Apparently there's another video of him where he *misses* the jump, miraculously catches himself on the ledge below, then *immediately* jumps again. Fricking nuts. (i haven't seen that one though; it's not on the net...)

actually... while this one must have been planned (i.e. how else would you get those camera shots...), Dan apparently used to on-sight free climb routes more difficult than this one....

That is just nuts.

On a sad, but perhaps expected, note: he managed to kill himself a few years later doing an unrelated, but also highly dangerous activity (jumping off cliffs relying on the ropes he'd installed to protect him... rope snapped... )
