I'm going to Japan on Saturday to tutor a computational neuroscience course!!! Whic is rather cool, I think :) So if anyone wants any (a) funny little cute Japanese toys (b) reasonable quality sake or (c) other things, let me know! I'll try to bring some back ( Read more... )

OK since you're offering, can you please bring me back some reasonable quality green tea? Apparently you can't get decent tea here, according to Katherine.
Is tea allowed through customs though?
I don't want you to have to stress about it, so don't worry if it isn't.

I completely agree. Down with body temperature! We will no longer be subjected to the tyranny of 37 degrees!

(Harbin Ice festival sounds great... though fitting the required cold-weather gear may be a challenge :) )

Heh; and I completely misread:
we can get passed taking a multitude of planes if we do over night trains

I've never done over a train before... I wouldn't want to hurt its feelings! :) (and I'm really not up for passing a plane... ouch)

With the tea (It's for katherine. Shhh) it has to be around about the $15 mark, green and... yes that's the specifications. She says you can also get a really nice tea container covered in Japanese paper for about $4.
