Not-So-Scary stuff: people are trying to bring back the draft. H.R. 163 was defeated in the house, 2 - 402. S.89 is either stuck in committee, or has died there. People need to stop freaking out about this stuff. Seriously. If it's going to happen, and it probably will, we'll have some warning.

Oh, I get it! "Shock and awe" was never a strategy to confuse and bewilder the Iraqis to make them more tractable, it was to make Americans easier to manage as we milled about in confusion, holding our aching heads and groping for Tylenol.
