I'd love to believe that, but I wonder if the poll respondents might be skewed, or lying. Lots of people answer gender/race questions one way to not look bad, but deep inside feel a different way

Those are good points. I guess it's just been long enough since the last let-down that, I dunno, I've forgotten to be angry and have started having faith again.
I'd certainly like to see a woman run for president, but I'll be honest: I'm not going to vote for someone if the sole qualification that sets them apart from the other candidates is womanhood. I'm equal-opportunity picky, though, and won't prefer a male candidate over a female one simply because he's got a Y.
Damn it, I want candidates with strong positions and the drive to both bring down their opponents and actually improve this country a little (my idea of improvement, not this backslide to the Crusades that the Bushies seem to be pushing).
