I had some spare time so I thought I would update. This summer seems to have passed more quickly than I would have expected. I have about a month until school starts back. Nah, not really. I totally see your point and I often shy away from saying something because I don't want to fall into the "religious right" or even "religious nut" category. Those movies often send me down the same avenues thought-wise, but then in a day or so, I'm back to normal. When I think about it, that's a very sad way to be.

I do understand what you are saying - sometimes I question my own negativity toward the "religious right" and the church in general. I mean, it is God's church, and He knows what He is doing with it.

Basically I think that I agree with much of the morality of the right, but they are, generally, missing the most important aspects of our life in Christ - grace. I think they are afraid to preach real, unadulterated grace to their followers because they are afraid that they will go crazy and sin all the time (which, I am sure, some of them might). In this their intentions may be totally correct. But, without grace there is no righteousness. So, while their followers might look great on the outside, it is not a real righteousness, and they lose the very thing they are trying to safeguard. I think there is something besides the group with no morals, and the group with only morals.
