Haven't posted in 7 months, my how livejournal has fallen.  Granted, I'm not Russian so that's one reason.  Moved in with old high school friend, writing like mad and trying to keep my head above water with all the insanity.  Need to play more, but recently I'm the forever DM, which makes it hard to make the funnies.

While one certainly gets fewer "you can't do that"s as the GM, in my personal experience, the GM in the D&D games I've played in has been responsible for a significant portion of the hilarity.
Perhaps we could get a list of "Things Mr. Welch totally can do in a TTRPG, because he's the GM and he said so."

From my own experience as a GM:
If I reroute the Gate of Infinity my players were trying to use to bypass the plot, even if it totally made sense in context for that to happen, I may not complain when my players make "choo-choo" noises. I am, however, welcome to join in.
