i can't let it go

Due to a recent spate of events, i have brought into question my identity. By this, i don't mean myself, i mean which Sex and the City chick i am. Back at UCSC dining admin. i was pegged as Miranda for my cynicism and awkwardness and a bunch of other stuff. D was Carrie, Christina2 was Charlotte, and Jodie was Samantha. We even had little labels printed out. I like being Miranda-i identify with her, as i am wont to do with certain characters when watching movies or television shows.

Our UCSC dining admin group is comfortable with our designations, but outsiders don't see it quite the same. I've been called Samantha several times recently, and although i share many of her world views, i promise i'm not a total slut. Few people have settled on Carrie for me, just because i over-analyze things and have these ridiculous ideas about my own relationships. One person that has never crossed anybody's mind was Charlotte-until today. I am not a Charlotte and i will never be a Charlotte.

Complaining to my friend today, she sent me a quiz while at work to see which SatC chick i am (and it took me 3 hours to complete). It said i was 8% Samantha, 33% Miranda, and 37% each Carrie and Charlotte. I repeat: i am not a Charlotte. So, i decided to take matters into my own hands:

iVillage.com test 1 (1st try): 30% Carrie, 30% Samantha, 20% Miranda, 20% Charlotte
iVillage.com test 1(2nd try): 40% Carrie, 30% Miranda, 20% Samantha, 10% Charlotte
iVillage.com test 2: Carrie
tbs.com: "You are most like: CARRIE / How certain are we? BARELY"
blogthings.com: Carrie
BrainFall.com: Carrie
okcupid.com retest: 8% Samantha, 29% Miranda, 33% Charlotte, 45% Carrie
marieclaire.co.uk: Samantha (on the brink of Miranda)

Not that i mind being Carrie, but why? I can't believe this bugged me enough to warrant taking 7 quizzes and making a livejournal post.

Anyway, i invited the Zacat over tonight, we made personal pizzas (i really liked that idea, by the way; maybe we should do a taco night next), and we watched a movie from the 1940s called And Then There Were None, which was good up until the final 20 seconds. There was one extra rolled out piece of dough, so Cat got the bright idea of making a s'more pizza. It was actually pretty good.

Oh, did anyone watch Battlestar Galactica tonight and subsequently keel over?

P.S. This new The Submarines album kicks all sorts of ass.

Cat: When we pulled in i thought, "Phuong lives in my personal hell." Is my mother here?

Me: I miss the days when we were always just happy.

Me: The world is not beautiful enough for chance discoveries.

why would anyone do this, i'm an idiot, dialogue
