◥ This is the Golden Shore?
Yes. Unfortunately the End got to it first and ... well. Good thing you all killed it when you did, or else it might have consumed the entire place!◥ Is there anyone else on the Shore?
No. Every single resident of the shore is now dead.
Most of the characters dropped over the two year course of ms_elegante are assembled in a morbid heap of decomposing corpses in the town square. However if they took the End's offer or were dragged from the boat by pirates, they won't be there!◥ Is the End still on the Shore?
No. You can breathe easy there at least!◥ Can I bring a new character to the Shore? What about one I dropped before?
No, only characters that were active and on the Taken Characters list during the boat's final plot can be played on the Shore. Exceptions will not be made.◥ Can I still use elegante_ooc and elegante_plot to organize posts and events?
Sure!◥ So what exactly is on the Shore?
Not a whole lot anymore! There's a forest and a lake, an old settlement that's now in ruins, and the remnants of a city. There's also an abandoned train line that runs between the island's main areas.
Mana-mod made some beautiful maps of the entire island, and a smaller map of the now ruined city.◥ How big is it?
Approximately fifty miles across, give or take.◥ Are there any other islands nearby?
There is absolutely no other source of land. Well, unless you count the iceberg.◥ Okay, so where will they live?
All houses and buildings have been torn to rubble, so shelter will have to be assembled, built, and set up creatively. Mud hut, shanty house, brick and mortar building, whatever you desire and have the energy and skill to build.◥ Is there food?
There will be some canned food buried in the remnants of some of the buildings, but largely it will need to be foraged and hunted for.
Some of those bodies aren't that ripe yet either. There's always good old cannibalism!◥ Wait, foraged?
There are edible plants around the island. Some burrowing animals may have survived, and there are fish in the ocean that can be caught with some ingenuity.◥ What about water?
There is a small lake and there are underground sources of water. Salt water can be purified with the right equipment.◥ My character is injured, where is the hospital?
The hospital can be found in the city to the south of the island, however it's been completely demolished. Any supplies will need to be scavenged, and not everything will have survived.◥ Are there any weapons?
Yes, there will be weapons from multiple worlds scattered around the island. The inhabitants put up quite a fuss at the end; however remember that there will be limited ammunition!◥ You mentioned a train line?
Yep! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to run anymore. There are two trains with four cars each, stopped along the tracks.◥ Is there any other transportation?
There are quite a few kinds of vehicles scattered around the shore, some burned out and some in relative working order. People from many worlds had been settled here for a long time, so there are plenty of parts to work with to reassemble into other modes of transportation.◥ What can my character do when they're not fighting for survival?
Whatever they like! Unfortunately the island's entertainment district died with the rest of its buildings, so the survivors will have to make their own fun.◥ So there's nothing to do?
There's plenty to do! But none of it is set up. The passengers will need to fight for their own survival and create their own, new home however they see fit.◥ Is there danger on the island?
Only the danger they create themselves. And well, paper cuts. Vicious bastards, they are.◥ Will there be events and NPCs?
You're totally welcome to organize your own player events, but mods won't be making any more events or introducing NPC characters. What you see is what you get, here!◥ So no mods at all?
There won't be a constant mod presence, however we will still respond to complaints of godmoding, bullying and people not respecting the IC / OOC line. You can contact Otana (flingintoalake), Mari (ramiahstar) and Egg (quiteeggcentric) at any time if you have any problems at all.◥ What about power and size limitations? Aging? Pregnancy? Illness? Are the old rules for these things still in place?
Redd's remaining influence on the shore says yes. If you need to remind yourself of the rules, hop on over here~ ◥ Does the System still resurrect the dead? Are there punishments for violence and murder?
Death is permanent on the shore. With no Mother, there is no System.
And there are no punishments, so feel free to start riots and have brutal knife fights over the last can of baked beans.◥ Will the communicators still work? How?
Yes, they will! Redd's magic is mighty, and he had a great influence over the Golden Shore. ShipNET will remain up and running.◥ I have another question that isn't answered here!
