okay...so i know i said i was bound and determined to ask her when we head back up north...however...the finances that will allow us to go up north now interfere with me buying the ring...so i'm either waiting till her birthday in mid october..or our 1 year in december, even though that is way tooo damn predictable

meh, you don't need a ring... XD I mean what is it, really, other than a symbolic thing? So, you can draw a ring and then that piece of paper will be the symbolic thing with a depiction of another symbolic thing on it. Man, I am full of awesome suggestions.

(srsly though, my dad proposed to my mom with an onion ring. I personally have yet to see any sort of ring, but I'm not really bothered by it!)
