193. Something wicked this way comes.

Given the way it seems like whatever is going to happen as a result of this is building, I'm going to put out a call for inmates who are interested in working in the infirmary as support care staff. You don't need anything but your wardens permission and we'll train you from there. Also if any wardens are interested in taking a basic first aid/ ( Read more... )

Actually, Raistlin talked to Dr. Caesares about helping out sterilizing equipment and got permission from Rayne because he wanted to learn how to do that, so he'd be on infirmary support staff, too.

I'm a bit confused as to what "sterilizing equipment" is? Cause I assume it all goes into a big hospital sterilizer box thing?

That's what I was picturing.

What was said?

[And she makes this viewable.]

I don't know why people think calling me "Saint Martha" is such an insult.

It's not an insult, but rather a derogation of the entire concept.

"Taught you some sense"? What rubbish. As though Rodolphus ever raised a hand to her for the nonsense he endures.

That bit did insult me, which is why I told her how I'd advocated for your wand.

We'll see what happens.

How far does this training go? And when are they let loose on your patients?

...Actually have I ever mentioned that I refuse to be treated by anyone but Omega and the Doctor? And am very much capable of administering treatment myself should I choose to do so?

They're not doctors, Rassilon. For the most part it's aid work. Getting water and the like.

You've made your wishes with regards to them quite clear. And if you mean that you can work in the infirmary, I know that. I've seen it happen before.

Good. Anything else would be rather irresponsible.

I meant purely self-treatment actually, as much as some may frown upon it. I simply am more qualified than practically everyone else when it comes to Time Lords. And I've no intention to work in the infirmary, especially not full time. I don't particularly enjoy being there, for various reasons.

There are times when treating yourself, no matter how qualified is a horrid idea. For example when pain is clouding your judgment. The best thing you can do is allow someone else to treat you like this.

I know it's easier said than done for obvious reasons, but it's better for you if you've the option.

That's fine. We don't want anyone who doesn't want to be there.

While I sympathize with you, Claire, I'm afraid it's a bit more difficult than that for me, especially if we suddenly end up with mass causalities.

That might be a good idea, actually. I'm certain the kitchen's hurting as well.

[Sorry Martha, Arya doesn't like the sound of this medical baseline thing. She will be avoiding the infirmary.]
