Well, I suppose that was interesting. Even as someone familiar with goblins, trolls, dragons and the like, dinosaurs are a new one on me. It's sort of odd to think about, but there are lives perpetuated by stories. A lot of things that you wouldn't believe to be real exist because there are people who, in a sense, do believe in them ( Read more... )

I would remain at harm's way. Um... What are trolls and goblins?

Oh. They're sort of like people, but usually bigger, and a different color, and different shapes, and they usually have worse reputations.

Dinosaurs, dragons...I don't see much difference between the two, really.

The flying and fire-breathing is sort of big difference, don't you think. Though... There are some dinosaurs that flew.

Even if they are similar, it's interesting to know that the mundy world produced something so alike.

Oh, dinosaurs can't breathe fire? Well, that's certainly a relief. The teeth seem to be the same for both, though.

Pardon? The mundy world? What sort of world is a mundy world?

They are both big and lizard-y.

Oh, sorry. It's short for the mundane world. The place where I'm from sort of has two worlds, the mundy world and the Homelands. I'm not sure how to explain it, really, but they're sort of parallel to each other. To the mundy world, everything in the Homelands is something like a fiction.

Are you saying things exist because people believe in them?

Maybe there are plenty of stories about dinosaurs in other worlds.

Maybe it's not how we exist in the first place, but belief keeps us as we are. Enough of it makes us more powerful.

I hadn't thought of that, but there's an idea. I suppose I was just thinking about my own home-world.

Hmmm. There is truth to that. There's only the question whether we always can --

Well, I think anyone would do that, so it's no fault of yours.

I wonder if dinosaurs make very interesting main characters.

They're awful loud.

I guess it's what they get of having such big lungs.

It's kind of scary to hear something so big stomping about making all that noise.

It was a little nerve-wracking. I guess we're lucky it was just for the day.
