[012. Patience]

She watches people die because she can't do anything to save them. She watches and she waits until they come to her, asking and begging for help, pleading. And yet she does nothing. She is trapped, not living, not dead, merely existing -- probably for someone's sick pleasure, she assumes. The ones who ask are the one who pass over to the other side, towards their eternal bliss or eternal damnation.

And there she stands, at the very edge. But when she jumps she's right back where she started again, staring out at the bottom of the cliff.

She thought once, that maybe there was a reason she couldn't die, a higher calling of sorts. But she can't help anyone, not even herself, so what kind of calling is that? Maybe this is just her Hell. If that's the case, she's not complaining -- she's got TiVo and she'd really love not to have to lose that.

So she waits, at the very edge and hopes a breeze will come and push her into the rocks below. She hopes she won't wake up and have to put herself back together again. She's patient, she can wait until she doesn't wake up.
