To those in the know

We may have a problem.

I went to my mother's today, and I met, well, the biggest of her surprises.

She's adopted a demon. I have a demon brother. So no, I didn't faint last time I was there, I just wasn't paying enough attention to realise I was being drained. He was very quick about it. I'm pretty sure he's been feeding off my mother, as well ( Read more... )

That's quite young for powers to be kicking in, yes. But Anna's wings manifested at 9 because of the things she's been through. I very much agree than we should do something about this.

If you'd like me to talk to your mother as well...show her around the hospital...anything. I would be glad to do it.

I'm very sorry he doesn't like you, Nancy. I'm sure he'll come round.

I'll certainly get you and Mum together after I've told her - I'm sure she'll be interested to find out what some of her money is really doing within your hospital walls. I'll talk to her when I nex see her, although I'm trying to decide if it would be a good idea to talk to Elliot (that's his name, I only just now realised I hadn't said it) first. I don't want to do anything that could be seen as going behind his back incase that sets off his temper.

It is possible he is not entirely sure what he is or what he can do. Being able to soul suck at 11 does seem to indicate that he might have been told, but even that might have been false information.

Whatever you choose to do, know I am with you should you want me to be.

I know Peter :) Thank you very much.

I just had a thought that he might be at the Film Festival opening night and after party... everyone might get a chance to meet him.

Goddess, that's huge... I certainly agree that your mother needs to know. It wouldn't be fair to keep the knowledge we have from her. She needs to know what this could lead to. From all I've heard though, she's a wonderful woman. I'm sure that once she has the knowledge, she'll be able to handle it.

I'm sorry you got all eaten though, darling...

Man, you gotta wonder how many families that's happened to, and they just never knew. Lucky Clara's got you, babe. You reckon she'll be able to wrap her head round it? I guess we all did. Not like the evidence isn't right there.

You feeling alright, though? Anything I can do for you?

I think if anyone can wrap their head around it, it's my mother. I hope.

I'm feeling nervous. I'm not very... good, around demons. Demons I don't know, I mean. But then I feel a bit silly, as well, when I think about how he must be feeling. You don't have to do anything, Tamm, just keep on being you.

If you've got faith in her, I do too. I know you're a top judge of character.

Easily done, babe. Don't be alone if you don't wanna, okay? You're always welcome with me. You're not being silly. Seems pretty natural to be freaked around the kid, given what's happened so far. Sounds like you've both got reason to be.

Me too, Nancy. I don't like them one bit if they're unknown. I'm here if you need me *hugs*

That is indeed most worrisome, especially with him already using his powers to feed off souls. I truly hope it doesn't become an addiction at this early stage. It's probably best that all this is explained to him, as well as your mother, as soon as possible.

I wonder what he thinks of it all...

A prepubescent demon in withdrawl... it's horrible to think about, isn't it?

That's why I want to talk to him, too. If his mother was a demon, he may know a few things, but it doesn't pay to assume. He's probably feeling so very lost, though.

I'm always surprised how many young supernaturals are so unaware of their heritage. It's like there is some taboo about discussing it within the family. Elliot is lucky to have someone like you who is willing to explain it all.

Considering how many human children in the world don't even understand their own puberty, I'm not all that surprised. It's sad, though, that parents and children can't communicate as they need to.

I'm one to talk though. I've kept this secret from my mother for over a year, now. I suppose I knew I couldn't keep it secret forever.
