#01 - action, unintentional video

[Ashley awoke to the chill of an autumn breeze moving across her body. Being half-asleep and without her surroundings yet registering in her mind, she assumed that she had simply forgotten to close her bedroom window the previous night, and made to roll out of her bed with the intent to close it and simply climb back in to go back to sleep

[AFTER ALL IT'S BEEN SNOWING A LITTLE. That's the first thing that hits him when the girl in two dresses walks towards him. He looks sort of dumb himself, but at least he has a coat]

[She glances up from the journal, not quite closing it, but not keeping it held all the way open, either. The first thing that she really notices about Rin is those odd little wings, which at this moment does little more than back up the notion that she could just be dreaming.

This chill feels awfully real for something that possibly isn't, though.]

...I could show you where to get better clothes!

[Awwwyeah, helping out random chicks. he's so suave now. He can be hot shit here!]

I'm fine with what I have. [It's not intolerably-cold out...yet.] But you could show me anyway, I guess. [In case she changes her mind later.]

[Another day, another patrol. In the cold wind. Considering it was the New Feather cycle now, Adell made sure his patrol routes took him along the watch stations in case someone showed up there.

...Turns out, he made the right call as he sees a girl he's never met before near one of the stations, wandering around in the woods near the village. She looks like she's absorbed in the journal, but Adell will call out and wave a hand to her.]

Hey! You over there! Are you all right?

[action]

[thegreatashley]

[She stops and looks up, journal snapping shut, loudly enough that Adell might actually hear it from his own journal, thanks to the otherwise-silent audio that was accompanying the accidental video feed.]

I'm- ["just a little cold"] -fine.

[A pause. Then she speaks again, her tone indicating either boredom or complete unamusement-possibly both.] Do you think you could tell me where I am?

[Action]

[vulcanblazer]

[He approaches to a more comfortable talking distance, not noticing that she's a bit cold just yet.]

Yeah, I can. Though it'll probably sound pretty unbelievable.

[For now, Adell's wings are concealed beneath a leather coat. And judging by her tone, he doesn't feel the need to sugarcoat it much.]

This place is called Luceti. It's... not wherever you're from. It's an entirely different world, entirely separate from the worlds we all belong to.

[Well, that told her it was one of two very distinct possibilities.

1) This was a dream, and she was still asleep.
or 2) Red was messing around with her things overnight, accidentally managed a successful dimensional travel spell of some sort, and caught her in it, all somehow without waking her up.

That nagging chill still wasn't going away, however, leading her to start considering the possibility that she was, in fact, awake. Which meant the second possibility was far more likely, even if it was also far more absurd.

Either way...]

Anh... hm... hello? [She sees you but... doesn't hear you say anything, so she thinks maybe she should try and grab your attention.]

[Ashley immediately stops and looks around; she heard someone just now, but is having a time of trying to figure out what direction that voice came from, not realizing that it came from that book she's holding right now.]

Who's there?

[Oh boy... This is the second person this week not to know her voice is coming from the book...]

It's, hm... from the book... [How to explain something not even Peach understands very well?]

[She glances back down, and notices that the page she had stopped on has a fully-colored image-a moving image, at that-and that it appears to be the source of the sound she just heard.]

Well. Now I've seen everything.

[ Firo waves to her through the journal, trying to catch her attention. ]

You need somethin'?

[The motion catches Ashley's attention easily, and she stares at the journal for a second as it registers in her mind that the person on this page is talking to her.

Weird. Mildly interesting, that this book was apparently capable of something like this, but weird.]

Knowing what's going on here would help. [Spoken just about as flatly as ever.]

It's kind of a long story but...

[ He pauses, resting his chin in his hand. There's really no easy way to break it. At least she's calmer than the typical New Feather. ]

Well, you're in a place called Luceti now. These guys called the Malnosso got you here; they're these freaky scientists. And well... Nobody knows if there's a way you can get home without 'em sendin' you.
