Pubs (order of personal preference -
Brigantes (Micklegate)
The Evil Eye Lounge (actually any of the pubs on Stonegate are pretty good)
The Maltings (North Street/Rougier street)
Black Swan (Peasholme Green)

Attractions:

Art Gallery
Yorkshire Museum
Jorvik
Minster
Betty's (although I recommend the nicer Little Betty's in Stonegate)
York Brewery might still be doing tours.
If the weather's okay the walls are usually worth a walk-around.
Railway museum

You really can't go wrong for pubs/cafes/shops around Stonegate.

If the weather's nice, my top recommendation would be to walk the walls. It's a really nice walk, it's easy going and you get to see a lot of the city. If the weather's bad, then the Railway Museum would be my number one must-see.

Jorvik is extremely over-priced for what it is. The Minster is also expensive (you have to pay separately for the church, tower and undercroft museum) but it is fab.

The other museums are worth a look, but I'd do the stuff above first.

I'll second both of those suggestions (walls/railway museum)

However, I'll say that I really like Jorvik and have been at least twice. If you've not been, it's almost certainly worth going if you've time to kill.
