I'm just getting sick. It really does feel like the melting of the snow and creek released some sort of pestilence. My crockpot is almost finished with some garlic and broccoli soup, so maybe it will work its restorative powers.

That sounds like a really good idea. The last time I was sick someone told me garlic was an effective herbal cure. I ate a few cloves and started to feel a little better, can’t say whether or not the garlic had anything to do with it since I always feel better later in the day. Have you ever heard anything like that? Maybe I should eat some more cloves now, it couldn’t hurt.

I have heard that it works as a sort of antibiotic. I always try to eat it when I'm sick for good measure. I find that it's best to eat it with bread--I forgot to today and got a stomachache for a while.
