In other non job related news.

I'm looking to do an electronics/electricity demo for my son's school Science Club. Does anyone have access to any or all of the following;
Jacob's ladder (Mine is hiding in a box somewhere)
Tesla Coil
Van de graaff generator

We'd love to have you come demonstrate them or we could just borrow them.

Thanks in

Well, I have access to two of those, but they aren't the kind that are readily portable. Or that can be plugged into a normal outlet. I think our ladder plugs into the 480 three phase.

I also have no idea how I would get them to you anyway.

Well, let me put it this way: aside from the fact I can't always drive up to atlanta, I can't fit either of them into my car. I have a CR-V, and the space just isn't big enough. We move these around with a forklift when we have to pull them out for open house kind of events.

They are a whole lot of fun to use, though. :D

Yes. I have all three and you can borrow them.

The tesla coil is configured with a small Jacob's Ladder on top of a hard hat. Presently is is set up to be completely portable (no outlet required).

The medium size jacob's ladder has about 8 inch electrodes with about a 1.5 inch gap at the top. Drop me email; I don't check LJ very often.
