Salute

I saw Passchendaele tonight.

A remarkable good Canadian film, with a tragic hero ending - I like those kind of movies. You know it was a Canadian movie because the Germans in the trench were not inhuman Bad Guys. If this was a Hollywood film, the Germans would have been genetically enhanced orc with lasers shooting from their eyes.

A remarkable thing at the end of the movie. No one got up to leave. Perhaps it was the solemn nature of the film's end. Perhaps it was in deference to today. Sarah Slean was singing during the credits and film reels from actual WWI footage was ongoing. It wasn't until this part of the credits ended did people start leaving.

Thank you Canada, for making this world a better place.

movie, remarkable, thanks eh
